Renzi, leader of the centre-left Democratic party, is also keen for an early election in which he may perform better than the ballot scheduled for Spring 2018. ?The consensus among political players is to have an election in spring 2018; there is no appetite for an early vote other than from Renzi,? he said. Italy?s highest court has opened the way for early elections in 2017 after favouring a form of proportional representation in a ruling that could bolster former prime minister Matteo Renzi?s chances of making a comeback. He said the referendum defeat hurt, but stressed that the blog was a way to ?walk towards the future?. The law had been a cornerstone of Renzi?s broader reform plan and one he hoped would end decades of political instability.
If the election were held tomorrow his far-right party would probably be the largest in parliament. Nourdin el Ouali has grown used to far-right attacks on Dutch Muslims, and to dog-whistle politics. The letter did not directly mention Muslims, and began instead by attacking people who drop litter or spit on buses. However, in his warning of ?something wrong? in Dutch society, the message was clear. The system of proportional representation that first allowed Wilders to flourish makes it unlikely that he will become prime minister.
?What the league did to him and what Roger Goodell constantly lied about is beyond reprehensible as far as I?m concerned,? Brady Sr. said of his son. Tom Brady Sr. told KRON that Goodell is an unethical liar who went on a witch hunt against his son. Posted by Michael David Smith on January 28, 2017, 6:56 AM ESTPatriots quarterback Tom Brady has said he?ll wait until after the Super Bowl to share his thoughts about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The NFL admitted they had no evidence on him.?As for the possibility of Goodell standing next to Brady after the Patriots win the Super Bowl, Brady Sr. doesn?t relish that, saying, ?Somebody that has Roger Goodell?s ethics doesn?t belong on any stage that Tom Brady is on.? Footage has emerged of a pickup truck violently crashing into a bus in New York. Neil Brownell, the 82-year-old man behind the wheel of the pickup truck, was unhurt. Local reports suggest Mr Brownell had accidentally hit his accelerator instead of the brake when his truck went barrelling into the bus, which had stopped at a traffic light. Two people, including the bus driver, were treated for chest pain in nearby hospitals. Passengers were seen trying to shield themselves from the impact in the moments before the collision.
Although the hawkers were unlicensed, they were supported by Hong Kong residents who saw them as emblematic of local culture, which they feel is under threat. It was that decision that led to the months of protests in Hong Kong, later known as the Umbrella Movement, calling for ?genuine? universal suffrage. Despite the Hong Kong government?s apparent anxiety about the messages of opposing parties provoking violence, political adversaries have long coexisted peacefully at the Lunar New Year fair in Victoria Park. ?It set a very bad precedent,? he said in an interview, referring to the move to bar pro-independence parties from setting up shop at the fair, adding that he does not support independence for Hong Kong. In a first, it cited the party?s pro-independence advocacy, saying visitors might ?support or oppose the messages? of the party and thus ?endanger public order and safety.? Another pro-independence party, the Hong Kong National Party, was also barred from the fair.
Soon after, Mr. Pe?a Nieto officially announced that he would not attend, effectively beating Mr. Trump to the punch. By the time Mr. Pe?a Nieto invited Mr. Trump to Mexico for a visit during the American presidential campaign, his own image was as tarnished as the one Mr. Trump had painted of Mexico. ?Pe?a Nieto has made a superhuman effort,? said Jesus Silva-Herzog, a professor at the School of Government at Tecnol?gico de Monterrey. For Mr. Pe?a Nieto, the economics were particularly difficult. For months, Mr. Pe?a Nieto made his choice clear.
There are less than two million Gambians, and by percentage of population more people head to Europe than any other nation. Seven different political parties joined forces, plucking Mr Barrow from relative obscurity to drive President Jammeh from power. People here are poor and it`s strikingly clear whose relatives have made it to Europe, because they are building fantastic new homes. Mr Ceesay`s family were initially disappointed he hadn`t made it - they`d supported his plan to head to Europe and try to earn money to send home. Mr Ceesay, 26, got as far as Burkina Faso before he was captured by an organised crime syndicate.
