Turkey may review its political ties and a refugee deal with the European Union after an April referendum on a new presidential system, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

Even if Turkey reconsiders its political relations with the EU, it will maintain its economic ties with the bloc and welcome foreign investors, Erdogan, 63, said in an interview with CNN-Turk television late Thursday.
He described EU member states? defense of the Netherlands after it denied entry to Turkish ministers to campaign for the referendum as unacceptable.
As Turkey heads to the April 16 referendum to decide on whether to make the president?s office the center of executive power, Erdogan is engaged in a growing diplomatic row with the EU that risks damaging Turkey?s long-coveted EU membership bid.
