US Navy ship suffers heavy damage in collision off Japan

A US Navy destroyer was heavily damaged in a collision with a Filipino-flagged ship off the south-west coast of Japan.
The number of injuries has not yet been determined.
One sailor has been evacuated to hospital by helicopter.
