Palestinians Halt Contacts With U.S. Over PLO Office Threat

over the Trump administration’s threat to close its main office in Washington, a senior official said.
Abbas’ office sent a note to all government departments stating that “any meeting with an American official is banned regardless of the reason until they back down and treat us fairly,” Azzam Al-Ahmad, a member of Abbas’s government, said in Cairo late on Monday.
He told reporters that the decision, however, does not amount to severing diplomatic ties.
