President Donald Trump prepares to sign the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2018 in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, D.
on Tuesday, Dec.
The NDAA authorizes $626 billion of the base budget resources for the Department of Defense and the national security programs of the Department of Energy, providing an additional $66 billion for Overseas Contingency Operations.
President Donald Trump will provide an update on his drive to curb and scale back regulations at a White House event Thursday, according to an administration official.
Trump, just days after taking office last January, signed a directive ordering his department heads to kill two regulations for each new one they issue and to cap the costs of new rules.
He has vowed to slash unnecessary, "job-killing" rules across the federal government.
No details were provided about the 2:30 p.
event to be held in the Roosevelt Room at the White House.
His progress report comes as the administration gets ready to release a study on the burden of regulations on businesses and taxpayers.
